Responsibilities

The Global PSRA - Packaging Regulatory Compliance Specialist is an individual contributor role responsible for helping ensure that Eastman and the packaging it uses meet all packaging-related regulatory requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of global packaging regulatory requirements for a variety of business applications, solid team leadership skills, and the ability to communicate clearly about these complex requirements. In addition, previous experience with packaging labeling, packaging recycling, and other packaging-related sustainability requirements will also be helpful. The person selected for this role will provide regulatory counsel to and work with a cross-functional team of Eastman representatives focused on packaging compliance, including those involved with procurement, logistics, quality, trade, sustainability, government relations, legal, and product regulatory areas. Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance & Insights: Monitor current and future regulations impacting all aspects of packaging compliance, including: o Providing regulatory interpretations, counsel, and practical applicability/compliance guidance in support of business needs o Monitoring and interpretation of Global Packaging Regulations to determine impact to packaging used by Eastman Chemical Company or could impact packaging made from Eastman Chemical Company products. o Identify and propose process efficiencies can be developed and where cross-functional regulatory relationships can be improved, propose strategies to enact them o Utilize regulatory and packaging experience/expertise to provide input and influence business/technical/policy decisions o Inform and guide a cross-functional group through compliance with packaging regulations o Coordinate and implement standardized processes to ensure compliance o Provide input regarding needs that must be met for packaging compliance o Lead Eastman’s compliance with global packaging reporting obligations o Evaluate customer inquiries on packaging compliance against the country or regional regulatory requirements

Advocacy: Initiate, drive, and execute advocacy strategies to minimize negative impact to Eastman due to onerous restrictions/regulations and influence the outcome of potential new legislation and regulatory trends.

Project Leadership/Customer Communication: Facilitate communication of regulatory topics through: o Identification of affected products/customers o Develop recommendations of requirement to ensure packaging being shipped globally is fully compliant with all regional regulations and requirements

 Labeling requirements for packaging  Recycling requirements  Content requirements (no chemicals of concern)  Recycled content requirements

o Developing clear communication strategies with cross-functional teams regarding the impact of regulatory changes impacting Eastman products o Documentation of packaging content received from suppliers in identified database o Representing Eastman as regulatory expert in Customer and Supplier meetings o Facilitating/Participating with appropriate supply chain individuals to identify alternatives to current packaging to consider sustainability requirements

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Engineering, or related technical degree required • 3+ years of experience in following and interpretation of global regulations preferred • Experience and knowledge of industrial packaging types and compliance requirements • Knowledge of REACH, Hazard Classifications, Chemicals of Concern • Proven track record in project management

The position is preferably located in Kingsport, TN and reports to the Global Manager, HazCom, Advocacy, Regulatory, and Toxicology (HART) team in the Product Stewardship & Regulatory Affairs function. Other locations may be considered for the right candidate.
