Description

Our Quality Management/Corporate Compliance team has a new full-time opportunity available for an Internal Auditor.

This position requires extensive knowledge of OPWDD/OFPC, State and Federal regulations, and it r equires a high level of confidentiality, use of good judgement and independent decision making.

The Internal Auditor must be a self-starter and take an ownership role to assist the organization to comply with OPWDD/OFPC regulations, State and Federal laws. This position performs various internal auditing functions including but not limited to:

  • Conducting file reviews, site visits, and observations of service implementation.

  • Generating reports of audit findings and assuring issues are addressed to the fullest extent.

  • Taking initiative on projects and demonstrate excellence in teamwork, ensuring accuracy of work, maintaining confidentiality and setting the example of communicating respectfully and thoughtfully to peers, people served, and external entities.

  • Scheduling, evaluating and conducting audits of Residential, Day Habilitation, Community Habilitation, and Employment Services by spending time in each program to ensure compliance with Medicaid, OPWDD, OFPC, and agency regulations, guidelines, policies and best practices

  • Ensure regulations are followed by conducting regular critical observation, assessing staff competencies, audits/checks and supporting worksite supervisors in following up on recommendations and corrections.

  • Review and track fire drill reports, sprinkler system inspection reports, fire alarm system inspection and monthly safety checklists to ensure safety regulations are met.

  • Ensure all Medicaid, OPWDD, OFPC regulations and agency policies are followed consistently. Review program documentation for accuracy and punctuality.

  • Will collaborate with the Residential, Day Habilitation, Community Habilitation, and Employment Services to aid in preparation for a state audit by facilitating the correction of any identified issues during the internal audit process. This includes ensuring that the program management has set up systems to ensure ongoing compliance. Will observe and report any unsafe conditions and/or unsafe acts.

  • Will observe and question staff/ management to ensure they are knowledgeable in their duties, Fire Safety, Individual Outcomes, and Safeguards of the individuals assigned to them.

  • Actively participate in state and OFPC audits and develop/maintain professional relationships with the state and OFPC audit teams. The Internal Auditor will learn the reviewer’s expectations and share that knowledge with management.

  • Will continuously learn and keep abreast of new and/or changing state regulations and guidelines. The Internal Auditor will share this information with all relevant programs.

HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday/9:00 am to 5:00 pm/must be flexible

STARTING SALARY: $ 20.96 to $ 24.42 per hour

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 4-5 years of experience in the OPWDD field.

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and flexible.

  • Independent, strong self -starter able to quickly gain confidence and coordinate projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
