Requisition Summary The Cab/Outerbody Department is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to manage and lead the Outerbody group within the department. The Engineering Supervisor would manage all aspects of outerbody design work focusing on chassis fairings and aerodynamic devices. Including but not limited to large program design projects, plant support, warranty corrections, and cost reductions. Ideal candidates would have a strong leadership background in managing engineers toward achieving department and division goals. Here is what you will do in this role: Develop and manage a high-performance team which includes supervising, personnel development, team building, proportioning workload, and tracking progress. Manage all aspects of developing a project from definition to closure to meet schedule, performance, cost, weight, and reliability requirements. Track all aspects of projects including budget, costs, schedule, validation, and parts, providing periodic status updates to management, and managing through all tollgates per the PCP process and ensuring the proper use of DFSS tools. Prepare engineering activity status reports and other detailed reporting as directed. Effectively manage relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure information flows smoothly and issues are proactively addressed. Act in a professional manner in all contacts with external and internal customers. Some travel may be required. Qualifications & Skills: Supervisory or management experience is preferred 7+ years of design engineering experience is preferred Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively Ability to handle multiple tasks, learn on the fly, and adapt to change Professional and successful communication skills (verbal/written) with strong, effective interpersonal abilities Proactive approach to reconciling issues and reaching consensus Experience with a Phase Gate development process Proficient in Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) tools Strong overall knowledge of PACCAR vehicles Knowledge of and/or experience in heavy truck components and systems is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Thorough knowledge and experience with CREO and Windchill (or similar) is preferred Ability to apply knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), material properties, and manufacturing processes to improve designs Education Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required Master's Degree preferred Professional Engineering License is preferred Why work for PACCAR/Kenworth?
