Job Summary This position will be responsible for defining Functional Safety requirements across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs, L2/L4 ADAS platforms, and other future-facing vehicle technologies. We are looking for a team player who will be tasked with working with several other areas of engineering between PACCAR divisions globally. The Functional Safety Engineer will lead the development of Functional safety work products and requirements for systems related to commercial EVs, Automated Driving (L2+), Autonomous (L4) trucks, and other technologies being developed at PACCAR.We are looking for someone who can work with a high-performance team to manage the technology and process to ensure timely delivery of their Functional safety work products. The ideal candidate has excellent communications skills, experience in stakeholder alignment, and a passion for implementing the latest technologies into commercial vehicles. Job Functions / Responsibilities Perform safety-related analysis, derive, and specify safety requirements and safety concepts. Create work products for systems needed, and conduct hazard and risk analysis. Create and maintain applicable specifications in IBM DOORS / DOORS Next Generation (DNG)/ MEDINI Lead/participate in software peer reviews and Functional Safety to ensure compliance with requirements Responsible for compliance with PACCAR Inc. processes and safety procedures Represent the team globally as a key partner to the product Support or lead activities for customer outreach and education in these technologies and their respective use cases Qualifications / Skills Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree 5-7years of experience with automotive or similar electronic modules and/or systems engineering Design/development of safety-critical systems/components (ISO26262) Experience with requirement management tools such as DOORS, DNG, JAMA, etc. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications High level of oral and written communication skills and basic project management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with colleagues local and at remote sites Comfortable with ambiguity Strong technical leadership skills and ability to work in a highly collaborative environment Creative, disciplined, strong sense of responsibility, delivery, and schedule commitment Preferred Qualifications Understanding of major automotive vehicle systems such as Advanced Driver-Assistance (ADAS), Motion Control, Automotive Network,
