Description

This is a weekend shift position. The hours are Friday - Sunday, 5:30am - 6:00pm. Weekend shift employees work 36 hours and get paid for 40 hours.

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Inspector will inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh materials, parts and products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Inspector conducts in-process inspections and/or completes the final verification of end-item products. They will complete the following job duties:

  • Perform inspection of manufacturing goods during the manufacturing process

  • Conducts dimensional and electrical inspection of sub-assemblies or final systems assemblies

  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers

  • Interprets prints, manufacturing drawings, diagrams, wire cards and lists in approving or rejecting in-process or final assemblies

  • May perform in process inspections of rework items

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Demonstrates familiarity (typically 1-2 years of Production experience in the essential functions of the position)

Competenices:

  • Problem Sensitivity — The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem

  • Selective Attention — The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.

  • Coordination — Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic computer skills, including email

  • Basic ERP skills

  • Basic Microsoft Office Suite

  • Ability to obtain J-Std and IPC certifications

  • May require flight critical certification

Work Environment:

  • Indoors, environmentally controlled Manufacturing environment

  • Must use required PPE

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

Salary is $20.12 - $27.22 per hour.
