United States Fleet Forces Command ASSISTANT NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER in Kittery, Maine

Summary You will serve as an ASSISTANT NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER in the NUCLEAR PRODUCTION MANAGER, OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. This is a temporary promotion appointment not to exceed 1 year; may become permanent without further competition. Responsibilities You will manage all planning, production, and testing for the nuclear work package on the ship (except refueling). You will inspect ships to ensure work is being performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures. You will be responsible for ensuring the Shipyard’s nuclear work and testing on the project assigned is planned and executed to ensure workload and workforce planning is accomplished. You will provide input to the Project Management Team on nuclear and non-nuclear interface items. You will prepare and issue directives and memoranda to provide instructions, resolutions, and guidance for successful accomplishment of the production mission of the Shipyard. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: *Experience planning and executing large scale projects associated with the nuclear work of maintaining, overhauling, and repairing nuclear submarines. *Experience completing nuclear production projects within budget, manpower and time restraints. *Experience scheduling work and assigning tasks to complete large projects on assigned ships. *Experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing. *Experience with processes pertaining to submarine overhaul and repair.
