Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper/ Tax Preparer for our CPA client in Knoxville, Tennessee. In this role, you will be handling an array of tasks related to bookkeeping, account management and Tax Preparing in the CPA industry. You will be working on-site, part-time up to 20-25 hours a week, providing your expertise to ensure the smooth financial operations of our clients.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately record day-to-day financial transactions to maintain client's financial records.
• Prepare individual and small business tax returns, including forms 1040, 1065, and 1120S.
• Assist in setting up accounts and managing bill pays in QuickBooks Online. Tax Software in Pro Series.
• Utilize your comprehensive understanding of IRS tax codes, benefits, and exemptions.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure comprehensive financial reporting and meet critical deadlines.
• Use your proficiency in QuickBooks Online for various bookkeeping tasks.
• Utilize your skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Reconciliations, Data Entry, Microsoft Excel, Payroll, QuickBooks, ProSeries, and Property Tax Returns.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping role inside a CPA firm.
• Proficient in account reconciliation, ensuring all financial data is accurate.
• Skilled in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Experience in conducting bank reconciliations to maintain financial consistency.
• Demonstrated expertise in bookkeeping and maintaining financial records.
• Capable of efficient data entry with high attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for managing and analyzing data.
• Experience in payroll processing and management.
• Proficient with QuickBooks for managing business payments, bills, and payroll functions.
• Familiarity with ProSeries software for tax related tasks.
• Experience in preparing and managing property tax returns.
