Job Description

The purpose of this job is to manage the general accounting function and oversee the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements.

In this role you will:

  1. Oversee, lead, and set priorities for the Accounts Receivable team

  2. Select, coach, train, and develop direct reports to include appraising job performance and conducting performance reviews

  3. Evaluate and make appropriate improvements to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the company

  4. Develop and implement accounting practices and procedures

  5. Oversee preparation of budgets and forecasts

  6. Coordinate accounting services and integrate with operating needs

The following additional duties may also be required:

• Handle escalated issues which required additional support and approval

• Ensure analyses and reconciliations are performed to detect fraud

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent certificate required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred

  • Minimum seven years’ experience in accounting or related area required

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field preferred

  • CPA preferred

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills

  • Familiarity with Lawson or similar software

  • Intermediate knowledge of Monarch, Ascence software, and ReconNet or similar reconciling software required (ReconNet preferred)

  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and tax laws

  • Familiarity with Structured Query Language (SQL) programming language for data management

  • Experience working with large volumes of data from disparate sources and ability to turn results into meaningful and actionable intelligence
