Job Overview:

The purpose of this role is to assist APTIM Sr. Director of Quality to provide oversight of the "nuclear" Quality Assurance program and program implementation within the various APTIM Business Units. This includes the responsibility to manage governance (quality management systems), support the delivery of projects with proper application of change management and enterprise process improvement, promote/manage customer focus (compliments and concerns), enhance partnerships, and help ensure work meets the high standards of the Aptim Quality Management System. Provide company guidance on the use and application of the APTIM NQAPD and implementing procedures to new projects. Support proposals for new work.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Provide oversight, training, coaching, mentoring as necessary to ensure all project managers and site assigned QA personnel are performing their activities in accordance with the Aptim QA program.
  • Plan, coordinate, and/or assign personnel for execution of formal internal and external (suppliers, vendors) audits to assure compliance with the APTIM quality program (including the Nuclear QA program), customer requirements, and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Be the primary resource that provides nuclear quality expertise to the company.
  • Lead internal audits and related assurance activities.
  • Support or perform project readiness reviews, as required.
  • Manage corrective action programs and facilitate root cause analysis activities.
  • Apply a collaborative approach to help identify non-compliances, share best practices, and develop effective corrective action/improvement plans.
  • Monitor progress of all assigned projects in implementing their plans

Basic Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in engineering, industrial engineering, quality management, or related technical field is preferred. Advanced degrees are much preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience as quality manager for organization performing nuclear related design, construction, operations, or DD&R / demolition / remediation activities.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership position responsible for the activities of a team of workers, engineers, operators, etc. who are implementing quality requirements.
  • Experience with DOE projects is preferred.
  • Experience with engineering assurance, engineering quality, internal audit, oversight, programmatic development and maintenance, supplier qualification surveys, implementation audits, and surveillance.
  • Familiar with and have implementing experience and knowledge of the quality requirements contained in ASME NQA-1, NRC and DOE nuclear quality regulations, DOD CQCSM, and ISO 9001.
  • Capable of developing strong interpersonal networks and trust within the organization, setting expectations and requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, strong technical writing, exceptional organization, and time management skills with the ability to manage complex projects and large volumes of work..
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver quality and help ensure business results.
  • ASME NQA-1 Lead Auditor experience is required, with current certification preferred.
  • ISO auditor qualifications and certifications will be considered as skill enhancements.
  • Experience with DOE computer software QA program requirements is preferred and highly desired..
  • Possess or be able to obtain the DOD CQCSM certification within 60 days after hiring.
  • Possess the following recommended ASQ Certifications: ASQ-CQA, ASQ-CMQ/OE.
  • Additional quality relevant training, experience, and certifications are highly desirable.
  • Ability to obtain task specific clearance(s) is required.
  • US Citizenship is required, depending on the specific tasks assigned
  • Travel -- 25%, Varies, as required by the assigned task.
