Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing medication and healthcare products for patients, processing prescriptions using computer software, and providing exceptional customer service. Experience with Rapid Pack Machine/Strip Packaging, Dispill packaging/Bubble Packing, and the Pioneer system is not required but will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare medication and healthcare products for patients.

  • Process prescriptions using computer software.

  • Take prescriptions over the phone.

  • Label and record dosage information.

  • Monitor medication and supply storage and inventory.

  • Insert prescription and patient information into the pharmacy system.

  • Review prescription and patient information with a pharmacist.

Essential Skills

  • Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT required).

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Experience in retail pharmacy.

  • Compounding skills.

  • Pharmacy Technician license.

  • Pharmacy Technician certificate.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Independent pharmacy experience preferred, but not required.

  • Packaging experience preferred, but not required.

Work Environment

You will work in a small local pharmacy with a tight-knit team, providing a family-like environment both internally and to the community. The schedule is 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, with one day off during the week (likely Tuesday, but flexible) and every other Saturday off. A 30-minute lunch break is provided. The environment emphasizes quality over quantity, with a lower volume of prescriptions compared to chain pharmacies, but multitasking remains important

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00
