Job Description

This is a full-time, in-office position with the opportunity to work from home 2x/week.

Introduction

Our company seeks a motivated and experienced Product Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will understand user needs and business objectives, translate them into intuitive design solutions, and drive continuous design improvements.

As a Product Designer, you will actively collaborate with cross-functional teams to create user-centric products, including engineers, product managers, and other designers. Your primary focus will be crafting seamless interfaces and engaging user experiences, ensuring our products are functional and enjoyable to use. Your day-to-day activities will range from conducting user research and developing wireframes and prototypes to conducting usability tests and presenting design ideas to internal teams and stakeholders. Your expertise will play a fundamental role in shaping our digital platforms' look, feel, and user experience.

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Understand and interpret user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints in design decisions.

  2. Conceptualize and develop detailed product designs that meet user needs and business objectives.

  3. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including product managers, researchers, engineers, and marketers.

  4. Drive continuous design improvements by incorporating user feedback, usability findings, and design best practices.

  5. Present and defend design decisions based on user needs, design principles, and business objectives.

Qualifications

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience would be a plus.

Experience

We're seeking candidates with at least four years of experience in product design or a related field. Direct experience in designing innovative digital solutions is a must. Candidates should possess a proven track record in initiating, leading, and delivering successful user-centric design solutions.

Working experience with design software such as Sketch, Adobe XD, and Figma is required. Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and other front-end technologies is also a plus.

In addition to technical proficiency, candidates should demonstrate experience with user research methods, design thinking, wireframing, prototyping, A/B testing, and usability testing. Prior experience working in cross-functional teams and presenting to stakeholders will be highly beneficial.

The ideal candidate will also have a rich portfolio that showcases a deep understanding of design principles, creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Candidates with experience in data-informed design (utilizing user data to inform design decisions) will be given preferential consideration.
