Description
Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a permanent opportunity with a reputable company. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

Requirements - Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Proficient in ERP systems
Foundational knowledge in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Strong familiarity with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Wide ranging experience with VLOOKUP
Comprehensive knowledge of journal entries
Well-founded grasp of bank reconciliations
Balance Sheet Reviews experience highly desired
Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
General familiarity with budget forecasting
Quality experience with Excel Formulas
Month end closings experience preferred
Earlier work involving Pivot Table
Proven knowledge of Balance Sheets
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
