The Kodiak Island Borough Assessing Department is accepting applications for the temporary, full-time, non-exempt position ofAppraiser Technician . Working knowledge of local real estate and appraisal concepts is helpful. Willing to train the right candidate. Requires working outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather. Some computer work.

Duties

• Perform field inspections of real property accounts along with the measurement of improvements and collection of property particulars including observed condition, quality, and construction type.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent. Working knowledge of the Kodiak real estate market. Ability to speak clearly and effectively and deal with the public calmly and professionally in stressful situations. Basic knowledge of appraisal concepts. Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather. Ability to operate independently with minimal direction in a timely and efficient manner. Basic knowledge of computers. Valid drivers license.

This position is temporary and expected to last three to six months
