Director -Finance, FP&A Process & Insights

Opportunity

Under the direction of the VP-Financial Planning and Analysis, the Director-FP&A, Process & Insights will partner across the business and finance teams to identify areas of efficiency and growth to define Kohler’s short-term and long-term business strategy. This pivotal role will help guide and support key forecasting and planning processes to provide critical insights in delivering compelling strategic recommendations that will drive improved performance, higher returns and optimal resource allocation.

This role will help lead and manage the company's annual business planning and monthly forecasting cycles. This will include developing & monitoring companywide KPIs and metrics, reporting on trends and explaining key variances, and translating complex data into actionable insights to drive stronger business performance and profitability, ultimately helping to drive key-decision making across the organization. The Director will find innovative ways to deliver one source of truth (dashboarding, etc.) to measure financial performance against Plan and use these insights to inform Kohler’s Leadership Team’s and drive agile business decisions. This role will own the operating rhythm cadence and deliverables for various strategic business meetings (monthly Kohler Leadership and Executive Committee, bi-monthly BOD, quarterly QBRs, etc.) to drive a consistent and effective approach in discussing and actioning progress towards Kohler’s long-range strategy. The role will also define and build sophisticated, scalable, and credible budgeting, forecasting, and reporting frameworks and processes to allow for effective finance business partnership.

Specific Responsibilities

  • This position serves as a key finance leader for the businesses and corporate in developing efficient, standardized, processes to deliver meaningful insights that translate into focused action and credible business decisions and forecasts to optimally achieve Kohler Co’s strategic objectives.

  • Manage an integrated business planning and forecast process across all business units globally and evolve all facets of financial forecasting including annual budgeting, rolling re-forecasting, and long-range planning.

  • Create, enrich and maintain 18-month rolling forecasting methodologies to enable more proactive insights, actions, and agile decision making.

  • Assist in the preparation of key stakeholder communications including Board of Director presentations, Kohler Leadership Team presentations, Executive Leadership Team proposals, and other financial communications.

  • Own the operating rhythm cadence and deliverables of all important Kohler Co. level meetings.

  • Leverage innovative dashboarding tools to develop a Kohler Co. Control tower of KPIs, providing one source of the truth, to analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators to focus and prioritize the organization on key levers moving forward.

  • Partner on Business Strategies through support of ROI based decision-making and inform key stakeholders across the organization of the financial implications of key business decisions

  • In combination with FP&A leadership team, build and lead a high functioning and collaborative team that is a central partner to the organization and corresponding global business and finance communities.

  • Help drive growth and improvements in margin and profitability through effective business planning partnering with the business teams to achieve overall alignment on goals

  • Advise cross-functional peers on ways to optimize the business through budget and resource management

  • Support the monthly financial close preparation in the analysis of key P&L line items

  • Partner with the Enterprise Strategy and Data Analytics Teams to provide key insights into performance and financial trends, linking leading indicators in current business drivers to future strategy

Skills/Requirements

A Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting or Finance is a minimum requirement. This requirement is coupled with a minimum of at least ten years of working experience with a strong FP&A background. This combined with delivering P&L and Balance Sheet insights turned into action with demonstrated success in driving process improvement and business opportunities.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $156,000 - $201,900. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
