FMV Staff Engineer

Work Mode: Hybrid

Location: Hybrid - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our FMV team, primarily focusing on capital equipment projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for projects related to powder/bulk solids manufacturing, with expertise in transporting and conveying systems. This role will involve collaborating with internal teams and third-party vendors to design, procure, and implement equipment that enhances our manufacturing capabilities and supports our sustainability goals.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes to improve capacity, efficiency, and product quality.

  • Specify, select, and procure capital equipment in collaboration with third-party vendors.

  • Manage equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure smooth operations.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new equipment into existing manufacturing environments.

  • Contribute to achieving Kohler Companies’ sustainability goals through efficient equipment design and operation as well as process design.

  • Provide technical expertise and support to existing manufacturing plants across FMV facilities.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

  • Proven experience (5-7 years) in capital equipment procurement, design, and implementation within a manufacturing environment.

  • Preferred expertise in powder/bulk solids manufacturing, including transporting and conveying systems.

  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, etc.)

  • Strong history of executing projects to plan with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of sustainability principles and their application in manufacturing processes is a plus.

Travel: Up to 25% travel as required

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $98,900 - $125,600. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
