Production Worker/Grinder

Job Description

We are a leading manufacturer of railcar coupling devices in North America and are currently searching for dedicated individuals to join our team in Kutztown, PA. As a Production Worker, you will use grinders or chipping hammers to remove excess steel, bevel, round or straighten edges, and remove defects, burrs, and holes to meet product specifications. You will also inspect the final product using production gauges.

Responsibilities

• Position castings on work bench using hoist.

• Visually inspect castings and note what work needs to be done.

• Position and manually guide grinder or chipping hammer along specified guidelines on edge or surface of casting.

• Use production gauges to verify specifications of castings are to standard.

• Verify number and type of casting to be prepared for shipment.

• Perform general housekeeping/clean up in work area.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This is a hot, heavy industrial environment. You will be required to wear jeans and long-sleeved shirts. All additional safety gear, including hardhat, steel-toed boots with metatarsals, and respirators, will be provided and must be worn at all times. Candidates need to be able to work 1st and/or 2nd shift.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00
