Job Posting: Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher Assistant

Pay: $25/hour

Position Overview: We are accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Cross Categorical Special Education Teacher Assistant (ID Emphasis). This is a certified position requiring a Special Education Program Aide License from the Department of Public Instruction

Position Responsibilities:

• Assist individual students or small groups to reinforce learning activities.

• Supervise students during classroom and other activities, including field trips.

• Implement individualized areas of IEPs and behavior plans as directed by the teacher.

• Encourage independent behavior in students.

• Integrate OT/PT and Speech/Language skills into daily routines.

• Support generalized classroom tasks in both regular and special education settings.

• Facilitate individual, small group, and large group activities—both instructional and non-instructional.

• Supervise and assist students at community job sites.

• Assist students with bathroom/hygiene needs and other self-care routines.

• Support students during breakfast, lunch, and other eating times.

• Physically restrain students as necessary within the parameters of student IEPs and Board of Education policy.

• Assist students in specially designed physical education programs.

• Perform other generalized classroom tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Special Education Program Aide License from the Department of Public Instruction (reimbursement provided upon approval).
