Dairyland Power Cooperative Manager, Accounting in La Crosse, Wisconsin

Hiring Salary Range: $106,570 - $159,855

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.

Oversee daily functions in accounting department and provide leadership for direct and indirect staff on the accounting team. Work as a partner across the organization to support the financial health and strategic goals of the company.

The Impact You'll Make in this Role

  1. Manage and monitor the daily performance of accounting staff. Including training, scheduling, coaching, and mentoring employees.

  2. Oversee daily transactions to ensure accuracy and timely processing of all accounts payable, accounts receivable and warehouse inventory costing.

  3. Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  4. Coordinate year-end tasks and entries. Assist in preparing schedules and handle inquiries for annual audit.

  5. Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with company’s targets.

  6. Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting processes and leverage technology for efficiency gains.

  7. Serve as a resource to solve complex issues of the functional areas in Accounting.

  8. Collaborate with various departments across the organization while working on various projects, strategies, and initiatives.

  9. Acts as a resource for internal and external customers by answering inquiries or communicating information about DPC procedures and policies, along with compliance requirements.

  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field with seven (7) years of relevant experience. CPA certification preferred. Previous leadership experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills:

• Knowledge and skills in applying GAAP and accounting procedures.

• Experience with various financial systems; D365 knowledge preferred.

• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience with WI, MN, IA and IL sales tax regulation interpretations and filings helpful.

• Change management/process improvement experience preferred.

• Experience with Utility industry helpful.
