Description

We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to undertake a variety of accounting tasks within our non-profit organization. The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations

• Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial transactions

• Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

• Assist with budget preparation and monitoring, providing support to department managers as needed

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions, identifying and resolving discrepancies

• Assist with grant accounting, including tracking expenses and preparing reports for grantors

• Support external audits and tax filings, providing necessary documentation and answering inquiries as required

• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations relevant to non-profit organizations

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in the non-profit sector

• CPA or CPA candidate preferred

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
