Summary
Responsible for all area office payroll functions, i.e. setting up union employee files, inputting time entry for union and job charged ESOP employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Enter daily/weekly timecards into the system, set up new and rehired union employees in payroll system and maintain all files
Process weekly Federal payroll reports and monthly union fringe reports, verify union payroll
Maintain I-9 and W-4 forms and all other payroll related paperwork
Update union employee dues check-off information
Process and pay union over scale wages after required approvals
Continue to update knowledge of union contract rules as related to payroll
Coordinate paperwork flow with other office clerks for Daily Cost purposes
Maintain Daily Vehicle Inspection Sheets and DOT files, input weekly odometer readings and Tonnage to Pavers into the system, assist with mileage reporting for Monthly Diesel report
Maintain ESOP Vacation and Sick time records
Maintain HazCom files and show videos to new employees as required by Federal regulations
Qualifications
High school diploma plus two years minimum experience in automated payroll processing environment is desired
A ccounting, auditing, payroll, and invoicing experience preferred
Ability to analyze payables, charts of accounts, debits/credits, and financial statements preferred
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word and Excel essential
Problem solving skills with high degree of attention to detail
Self-motivated; ability to work independently
Good written and verbal communication skills
