The Toxics Cleanup Program{rel="nofollow"} (TCP) within the Department of Ecology (Ecology) is looking to fill [two]{.underline} *Program Cultural Resources Specialist (Environmental Planner 4) *positions. These positions are located in our *Headquarters *in [Lacey, WA]{.underline}.{rel="nofollow"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.   There are over 6,200 toxic cleanup sites across Washington that are either in the process of being cleaned up, or still awaiting clean up. As these sites are addressed, activities like demolition and ground disturbance can negatively impact cultural resources such as artifacts, sacred sites, and historic locations. In this critical role, you will ensure that cultural resources are properly considered and preserved throughout the cleanup process, allowing activities to proceed in a timely and appropriate manner. You will conduct consultations and reviews to comply with with Washington State Governor's Executive Order 21-02{rel="nofollow"}, Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act {rel="nofollow"}, and the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) regulations{rel="nofollow"}.   Your expertise will be integral in developing guidance and training for staff, consulting on work plans to mitigate impacts on cultural resources and updating program policies based on best practices and regulations. You will coordinate with the Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP), tribes, and federal, state, and local agencies to ensure regulatory compliance and resolve complex issues related to planning and environmental impact.
