Description Staff Accountants are entry-level employees with an educational background in accounting, financial statement preparation, auditing, tax preparation and tax law. Work is performed under close supervision. Responsibilities increase with demonstrated skill.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete assigned audit, review, and compilation areas in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by supervisor.

• Respond to firm associate requests in a timely and professional manner.

• Identify areas in the engagement that need to be discussed with a supervisor in a timely manner.

• Complete work that is accurate and organized.

• Ensure work is completed in a timely manner, and within assigned time budgets.

• Communicate proactively with supervisor regarding open items.

• Recognize how assigned tasks affect the final work product.

• Follow regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and the WICPA.

• Stay current on all professional pronouncements, such as FAS, SAS, GAAS. Participating in continuing professional education.

• Accept and seek out additional responsibility.

• Represent the firm and promote its image at a variety of events including, but not limited to: networking events, vendor conferences, client events and at college career fairs

• Meet billable hour expectations.

• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• Eligibility or currently pursuing CPA certification preferred.

• Demonstrates the following skills: analytical, problem solving, organization and interpersonal.

• Ability to prioritize multiple projects.

• Excellent attention to detail, quality, and timely completion of work.

• Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other various accounting software including CCH, Creative Solutions, and research tools.
