Leidos Inventory Management Specialist / Shipping Lead in Ladson, South Carolina

Leidos currently has an opening for an Inventory Management Specialist / Shipping Lead to work in our Ladson, SC facility. As a member of the Leidos Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) team, you will be joining a diverse and dedicated group who are excited about producing industry leading screening technology. Our new Ladson, SC facility will produce a comprehensive suite of fully automated and integrated products for aviation, shipping ports, border crossings, and critical infrastructure customers.These systems provide threat detection by screening baggage, cargo, and people at checkpoints around the world.

We are looking for someone with a background in domestic and international shipping. The role supports our company’s warehouse operations in direct support of manufacturing. You will issue and ship to both internal and external customers and perform various warehouse activities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The role is responsible for performing outbound activities in support of Production Operations for both domestic and international shipments/customers.

  • Pull, pack, prepare pallets / crates / boxes for outgoing shipments.

  • Process UPS, FEDEX or common LTL freight shipments.

  • Perform necessary transactions in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Collaborate with team to prioritize critical tasks to ensure customer fulfillment.

  • Perform general housekeeping to ensure all work areas are clean.

  • Perform other warehouse duties, kit pulling, put-away stock, cycle counts as required.

  • Develop an efficient plan to stay maintain shipping metrics in accordance to established thresholds.

  • Material Orders - gather and confirm materials required for assemblers to build orders at their benches.

  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

  • Identify and create labels for all inventory items.

  • Organize and document all shipping docs in accordance with file management guidelines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years inventory / shipping experience.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.

  • 2+ years of forklift experience and/or ability to drive a forklift with proper training/certification.

  • Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required).

  • Experience with computers and stock management systems (Costpoint experience is beneficial, but not required). Microsoft Excel experience a must.

  • Possess a strong teamwork mindset.

  • Demonstrate ability to interact, communicate and follow instruction.

  • Cross Functional Working - Ability to multi-task and communicate with internal/external customers to ensure tasks are successfully completed.

  • Demonstrate ability to adjust to sudden changes in operational goals/demands.

  • Demonstrate accuracy with general math skills.

  • Detailed/results oriented.

  • Effective time management. Potential to change hours to suit department requirements.

  • Ensure all Company equipment and personal PPE are correctly used and maintained.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education/work experience.

  • International shipping experience.

  • Forklift License.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $33,150.00 - $59,925.00
