Amentum Janitorial Manager in LADSON, South Carolina

Amentum is seeking a Soft Services Manager to join our team in Ladson, SC.

Typical work schedule is 40 hours, 7 A.M. – 4 PM.; hours may vary based on business demand.

Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation.

The soft Services Manager reports to the Site Manager and works to develop and maintain a close working relationship with business stakeholders throughout the organization and within the supplier community.

*This position is responsible for the overall operation of vendors completing custodial services, landscaping, pest control, snow removal, etc. across the client’s site which includes twelve (12) buildings totaling approximately 1.8 million square feet on a 151-acre site. This includes preserving the safety and well-being of our employees, safeguarding company funds and property, and generally representing the company with respect to the client. This position is fully responsible for the overall operation of vendors completing custodial services, landscaping, pest control, snow removal, etc. *

Safety and Compliance

Provides leadership ensuring accident-free workplace. Walks the Talk.

Ensures safety of employees and tenants of facility

Is knowledgeable of site safe work requirements and ensures work is performed in accordance with safety procedures.

Provides leadership to ensure Amentum and client EH&S programs are 100% compliant.

People & Communication

*Manages, leads, and develops the soft services team through effective communication, training, and development. *

Ensures soft services are run efficiently, maintains good customer relationships, and aims to exceed the customers’ expectations.

*Compiles, maintains, and presents various reports to Amentum management and client teams. *

*Leverages leadership and organizational management skills to ensure the success of business expansion. *

*Develops, presents, and manages compliance to key performance indicators (KPIs). *

*Directly interacts with client and manages relationships to ensure customer satisfaction. *

*Invests in team building to create and develop a cohesive team. *

*Demonstrates leadership by example and shows integrity and candor in all actions. *

*Supports or conducts formal presentations to clients and/or management. *

*Supports Amentum management as the designated Amentum agent for all soft services discussions and negotiations with client. *

Operational Excellence

*Prioritizes work based on the needs of the client and for the on-time completion of all work, as well as all documentation involved. *

*Ensures all subcontractors receive required training to perform the subcontracted services in accordance will all Amentum and client safety rules, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. *

*Scheduling, planning, documentation, performance and reporting with Amentum management team and client. *

*Ensures all waste streams handled by custodial supplier are properly segregated to minimize their processing and endeavor to provide exemplary customer service and maximize revenue achieved from all waste streams. *

*Reviews new job requests to differentiate between in-scope and non-scope work and addresses accordingly. *

*Manages the operation and completes tasks consistent with cost, schedule, and contractual requirements. *

*Researches and formulates related policies and procedures to ensure all associated administrative procedures are current and audit ready. *

*Coordinates and monitors the purchase and maintenance of equipment and supplies. *

*Oversees day-to-day soft services operations of client’s buildings and facilities. Influences, develops, and controls budget, costs, staff and vendors by planning, scheduling, implementing processes and drafting procedures. *

*Utilizes strong organizational and problem-solving skills and creative thinking to introduce and manage change to achieve continuous improvement. *

*Works proactively to identify potential project problems or opportunities, analyzes these issues using appropriate resources, and develops and implements optimum alternatives. *

*Develops and recommends long-range goals and short-range objectives as well as plans and practices to produce optimum results. Directs day-to-day operations to attain established goals and objectives. Monitors performance against approved plans. *

*Clearly understands Amentum scope of work and contract requirements for the area of responsibility. *

Cost

*Directly responsible for P&L and budgeting of subcontractors. *

Controls costs by planning work, effectively using resources, and executing to budget.

Identifies and implements cost savings initiatives in all areas of the project.

*Identifies and maintains accountability for company assets within assigned area and ensure employees understand their obligation to protect company assets. *

_Performs other duties as assigned by Management. _

*Minimum Requirements: *

Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, facilities management, or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five years of supervisory experience in industrial Facilities Maintenance, Janitorial and/or Subcontractor Management.

Valid Driver's License.

Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

This position will require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Preferred Qualifications: * *

*Experience utilizing Continuous Improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, 4 M’s, etc. *

*Experience creating metrics and data mining for driving performance results. *

*Experience in creating Power Point presentation and giving presentations in front of large audiences. *

*Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites with emphasis on the ability to navigate and formulate within Excel and Access. *

*Experience utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). *

*Experience in new business start-ups. *
