Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accuracy of cost of goods in internal systems and ensuring all product purchases are executed under the preferred contract and price

  • Collaborate with contract sources including GPOs (Group Purchasing Organization), manufacturers and wholesalers to establish standard cadences and formats for catalog and price updates

  • Manage day-to-day relationships with GPO partners including pricing accuracy, cost savings opportunities, and contract attachment and roster issues

  • Run reports to identify and correct inaccurate cost of goods in internal systems. Collaborate with accounting team to receive discrepancies between system cost of goods and purchase invoices, research root cause and make appropriate corrections

  • Audit all wholesaler purchases daily utilizing proper audit tools for both pharmaceutical and medical-surgical purchases. Research root cause and facilitate correction of data and request credits/rebills

  • Develop procedures with suppliers to audit product-level pricing for all Optum Infusion accounts on a regular cadence

  • Create and maintain tracking files for all identified price discrepancies and credits/rebills owed to Optum. Drive resolution with suppliers and produce reports/metrics of open and closed issues and dollars recovered

  • Ensure proper contract attachment at suppliers for all pharmacy accounts for each contract and pricing source

  • Analyze and present opportunities for potential cost of goods reduction

  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives by serving as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for assigned areas of responsibility

  • Cross-train with team members and provide back-up support as requested

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience managing supplier relationships

  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs

  • Proven highly proficient in data analysis and reporting

  • Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proven solid analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proven to be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

Preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing or contracting for pharmaceuticals or med/surg supplies preferred

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
