Actalent Laboratory Supervisor in Lake Mary, Florida

Job Title: Laboratory SupervisorJob Description

We are looking for a Laboratory Supervisor who is responsible for helping to manage day-to-day operations of designated areas, ensuring TAT is met, and upholding a commitment to deliver the highest standard of quality and service. The position ensures effective operation of all laboratory equipment and personnel, oversees procurement of supplies, troubleshoots non-conformances, and ensures adherence to all safety and regulatory standards as well as the laboratory’s QMS. This role will provide a high level of support to leadership and extend supervisory coverage during the daytime or swing shifts from Tuesday to Saturday. The candidate must be flexible according to evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of designated laboratory areas.

  • Ensure TAT is met and uphold a commitment to deliver the highest standard of quality and service.

  • Ensure effective operation of all laboratory equipment and personnel.

  • Oversee procurement of supplies.

  • Troubleshoot non-conformances and ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory standards.

  • Ensure adherence to the laboratory’s QMS.

  • Provide high-level support to leadership.

  • Extend supervisory coverage during the daytime or swing shifts from Tuesday to Saturday.

Essential Skills

  • Active ASCP Certification and FL Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required.

  • Experience as a lead technologist or supervisor in a high-complexity CLIA environment is required.

  • At least 5 years of experience in a CLIA laboratory.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a physical, chemical, or biological science.

  • Superior communication skills and demonstrated excellence in a leadership role.

  • Ability to effectively allocate and utilize company resources.

  • Ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performance teams.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies, and work in a fast-paced team environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Patient-first, mission-oriented mindset.

  • Experience in medical laboratory, molecular biology, medical technology, clinical laboratory, and microbiology.

Work Environment

This position will require flexibility with shift times, specifically for swing shifts starting between 10am and noon, and ending between 10pm and midnight. The role involves managing a team of medical laboratory staff. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $79000.00 - $110000.00
