Kelly Services Welder in Lake Mary, Florida

We're seeking a skilled Welder to join a metals manufacturing team in Lake Mary, Florida.

Job Title: Welder

Salary Range: Up to $20.00 per hour (based on experience) (Salary is discussed in the interview)

Type of Position: Full-time/ Temp to hire

Schedule: 2 nd shift Monday – Friday 2:30 pm – 11:00pm

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for cutting and joining metals and other materials, ensuring high-quality work while adhering to safety precautions. The successful candidate will have a steady hand, great attention to detail, and a strong understanding of different types of metals and their properties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read blueprints and drawings, taking measurements to plan layout and procedures.

  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on project requirements.

  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.

  • Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.

  • Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamps.

  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).

  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.

  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify flaws.

  • Maintain welding equipment in a safe and operational condition.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Proven experience as a welder with a solid understanding of welding techniques and equipment.

  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, etc.).

  • Proficiency in using electrical or manual tools (squares, calipers, etc.).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

  • Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shield, gloves, etc.).

  • Strong attention to detail and dexterity.

  • Proficient in English.

  • Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required.

  • Professional Certification (e.g., AWS welding certificate) is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CWI or CRAWL certification is a major plus.

  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
