Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

HammerHead Trenchless, a leader in the design and manufacture of piercing tools, bursting systems, pneumatic hammers, and horizontal directional drill tooling, is seeking a Machine Operator for their sewing/slitting machine. HammerHead Trenchless products are used globally to install or replace fiber, communication, water, sewer, and gas lines with minimal disruption to landscapes, structures, and traffic flow. Recently acquired by a company specializing in lawn care equipment, this position involves full operation and maintenance of slitter equipment and the Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) sewing line. Responsibilities include loading materials, ensuring proper alignment and tension, replacing/sharpening blades, measuring and cutting materials, troubleshooting machinery, and performing preventive maintenance tasks such as oiling and greasing.

Hard Skills

  • Full operation and maintenance of slitter equipment

  • Basic maintenance of CIPP sewing line

  • Loading materials into the sewing line machine

  • Replacing/sharpening blades

  • Measuring blades and cutting materials

  • Troubleshooting machinery

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Lake Mills, Wisconsin.

Work Environment

The facility is very clean and organized with high ceilings but no air conditioning in the summer. Doors are open, and it can get hot, but Gatorade and ice cream are provided in the summer. The shop has 55-60 employees. The position is available on the 2nd shift (3pm-Midnight) with overtime after regular hours, currently working 10-hour shifts and expecting 45-50 hours per week. The 1st shift (6am-3pm) also involves 45-50 hours per week with mandatory overtime. Pay is $22-24/hr with an additional $1.50 for the 2nd shift.
