PRIMARY PURPOSE

Manage Center Store and Front End operations to ensure associate supervision and engagement and tomeet financial and sales goals. Responsible for the overall operation of the entire store in the absence ofthe Store Manager. Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture in support ofHannaford Strategy. Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in thestore and throughout the organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Responsible for managing Center Store and Front End operations.? Promote excellent customer service and goodwill by role modeling and providing high standardsin customer service.? Hire associates for Center Store and Front End operations and support hiring for total store, asneeded.? Manage performance of direct reports, as well as all store associates through performanceplanning, coaching, appraisal, recognition, and disciplinary efforts.? Provide the training and development of assigned associates, and support the development ofstore associates.? Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer constructive counseling, when necessary.? Work to resolve AR concerns, discuss with Store Management, elevate to AR Specialist whenappropriate.? Assist in attaining financial objectives: sales, payroll percent gross margin, shrink, laboreffectiveness, and control of other expenses.? Utilize company tools such as: labor management, financial reports, scheduling, ordering andbusiness information systems.? Responsible for the Center Store and Front End schedules; ensure effective work schedules tomeet production and customer service standards as well as associates’ needs.? Ensure Center Store and Front End compliance with company policies, procedures, practices,legal requirements, and ethical procedures.? Ensure compliance with all Anti-Money Laundering regulations and training.? Observe and ensure compliance with company security, safety, and food safety standards.? Ensure that proper control of all store funds and company assets are maintained.? Maintain techniques and layouts consistent with the corporate merchandising philosophy.? Complete understanding of the causes and means for resolving inventory shrink issues in theassigned departments.? Understand the training guides and standard practices for Center Store, Front End and the totalstore as needed.? Available to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business operation includingclosing the store.? Treat all store information as strictly confidential.? Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

? College degree or retail supervisory experience.? Ability to lead and manage a team.? Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.? Effective interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.? Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.? Ability to use technical information to solve problems.? Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accreditingorganization as a “Certified Food Safety Manager” or will be required to attend companyprovided training and have the ability to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days ofemployment. Accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position requiringaccreditation.

Physical Requirements

? Ability to use computers and other communication systems required to perform job functions.? Frequent Bending, kneeling and squatting.? Frequent reaching, grasping, and lifting individual stock items below waist level or aboveshoulder level.? Perform repetitive hand and arm motions.? Stand or walk the majority of the time.? Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, including overhead lifting and up to 60 lbs. occasionally.? Push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly.? Pull or push up to 75 lbs. on occasion.? Use hands to operate controls, feel objects and use tools to open and prepare products.? Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packagingmaterials, and food production.? Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time.? Have sufficient visual activity to check ID cards, checks, invoices and other written documents.

Salary range is between $63,000 - $83,000 Annual
