Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Lake Zurich, Illinois

Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing minor repairs, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical failures, and maintaining the overall functionality of our production machines. You will work in a collaborative environment, ensuring our equipment runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleanup and minor repair of equipment

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical failures of production machines

  • Pull chip conveyors and move maintenance materials throughout the shop

  • Perform preventive maintenance and fill out check sheets

  • Conduct routine checks of exit lights, fire extinguishers, and replace light bulbs

  • Maintain liquid waste disposal and coolant mixing tank

  • Operate evaporator and maintain coolant concentration

  • Keep inventory of essential spare parts

  • Communicate with production personnel, other maintenance staff, and supervisors

  • Maintain a clean working environment

Technical Knowledge:

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and engineering drawings

  • Basic knowledge of motion and industrial controls, PLC, and troubleshooting

  • Experience with 120V, 240V, and 480V electrical systems

  • Basic forklift safety and knowledge of ferrous/non-ferrous materials

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Prior manufacturing experience in a job shop preferred

  • Trained and licensed in forklift operation

  • 1-4 years of experience required

  • 60% or better on Maintenance Test

Work Environment:

We use advanced equipment such as turning centers, automated cells, vertical machining centers, wire EDM, and inspection equipment. Employees are expected to follow safety rules and work overtime when necessary.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00
