Job Summary and Qualifications

The Maintenance Manager will function in a management role and will oversee a multi-shift team of maintenance technicians that will perform maintenance and repairs for the distribution center, automation, electrical and mechanical equipment to include conveyor and automation systems, servo motors, gear reducers, conveyor belts, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, painting, heating and cooling and other building systems. The Maintenance Manager will ensure that the distribution center is maintained in a safe and efficient manner.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate and maintain team’s quality performance.

  • Daily assessment for repair and maintenance needs of the facility, conveyors and automation components both through surveying and receiving requests from various departments.

  • Support all maintenance shifts as needed.

  • Create, implement and maintain preventive maintenance.

  • Negotiate contracts for execution of maintenance work.

  • Manage mechanical, automation and electrical systems,

  • Manage and maintain PLC system software and hardware components.

  • Coordinate HVAC Heating and Cooling maintenance repairs and contracts.

  • Achieve site performance for uptime, equipment reliability, overall equipment effectiveness maintenance.

  • Report all Maintenance KPIs, to include MTTR, MTBF, MTTF.

  • Maintain technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics).

  • Plan team’s schedules and repairs within the day-to-day operations of the distribution center.

  • Manage and maintain pharmacy walk-in cooler and freezers maintenance contracts.

  • Manage the baler and compactor operation, maintenance, and contracts.

  • Provide internal maintenance training or coordinate external training as needed.

  • Perform and document Root Cause Analysis.

  • Comply with EHS, OSHA policies and procedures.

  • Follow practices for the safe operation, maintenance and repair of all facility equipment, including compliance with health, safety and OSHA programs, policies, procedures, reports.

  • Follow city, state, federal, and EPA air conditioning and refrigeration record keeping requirements and disposal of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and refrigerant. Ensure department managers are aware of maintenance requests and activities currently in progress.

  • Train production workers of basic Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) techniques.

  • Manage and maintain proper parts inventory levels.

  • Conduct periodic quality checks on facility, conveyor, automation systems and components to ensure functional operability.

  • Report to Director of Compliance & Systems Engineering any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known, while providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities.

  • Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

  • Cost efficiency, continuous improvement, service, and safety for the distribution center across all shifts

  • Monitor operation of equipment, conveyor, automation and machinery.

  • Train on all Material Handling Equipment (MHE)

  • Implement and train maintenance technicians on Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO)

  • Keep storage areas, tools, and equipment secure at all times.

  • Support MHE Manager Other

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”

  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.

  • Promote continuous improvement.

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Experience and Certifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED equivalency Preferred

  • 3-5 years relevant maintenance work experience in a distribution center setting Required

  • Proficient in managing general, facilities, equipment and systems maintenance Required

  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Required

  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaker a plus. Preferred

  • Certificate in a building trade, building maintenance technology or relevant field Preferred

  • HVAC Excellence Certification Preferred

  • The Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) Preferred

  • Electrical certification/license Preferred
