Within our Customer Care and Social Media department, the Social Media Manager of Brand Advancement leads the strategy of organic social media content inspiring powerful connections with followers, fostering loyalty, positive sentiment, and love for Publix. A world-class collaborator, the manager partners with departments throughout the organization to source opportunities creating content that is both informative and engaging for the Publix brand.
In Publix's corporate offices, we value in-person interactions, similar to those our store associates have with customers. Many of Publix's corporate offices offer work from home up to two days a week. Each business area implements their policy differently and should be discussed during interviews.
What you’ll do
lead the strategy of organic social media content driving positive engagement, customer advocacy, and affinity for the Publix brand
develop an audience-focused content strategy for social media channels
lead, motivate and develop a team of brand storytellers who bring stories to life through engaging content that resonates with our followers

Year End Bonus:
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related discipline
at least seven years of social media communications planning and execution
at least three years of social media management, including social content and community management experience
at least three years of social media, marketing, and brand strategy experience
at least two years in a management or supervisory role
knowledge of the Publix brand, history and culture
knowledge of general business principles, retail, and grocery industry standards
strong knowledge of business analysis
strong knowledge of campaign planning
intermediate skills with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
expert knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, scheduling tools and social media analytics
expert knowledge in audience research principles, methodology and analysis
expert knowledge in crisis communication practices
willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
willingness to be on call 24/7, and travel locally and/or overnight
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related discipline or MBA
ten or more years of experience in social media communications planning and execution
five or more years of social media management experience, including social content and community management
five or more years of social media, marketing, and brand strategy experience
three or more years of management or supervisory experience
knowledge of Publix customer-facing and internal technology systems, applications and CCSM applications
knowledge of Publix’s organizational structure in both Retail Operations and key support areas
knowledge of department and company organizational structure, including roles and responsibilities of key associates
experience with social media aggregating and listening tool(s) such as Sprinklr
experience with social media engagement and publishing tools
strong knowledge of grocery/retail, consumer, and competitive environments
