Job Description Forklift Operator IVSummary of the Position:The Forklift Operator IV is qualified to perform forklift operator I, II and III functions within the distribution and warehouse/receiving departments. The person in this position has ability to use all types of material handling equipment and train employees in forklift operator I, II and III positions. In addition, the person in this position has completed a minimum of one year as a forklift operator III.Functions of the Position:% of TimeorMarginal (M)Essential (E)Functions Performed65%EUnloads trucks/containers of raw or Finished Goods items, verifies receipt to order documentation, signs & stamps bill of lading, receives inventory into system using WMS scanning equipment and verifies/applies LPs as directed. Picks work order demands, stages product for production use and returns unused items back to inventory. Loads trucks, picks orders as per customer requirements and puts away finished goods product.10%EEducates and trains new employees on their job functions, including all applicable guidelines, document control, systems and safe equipment operation.10%EKeeps receiving/warehouse and distribution area clean and organized. Sweeps, mops, picks up and empties trash, tapes up any open cases and organizes empty pallets, etc.5%ERotates inventory and follows FIFO (first in - first out) or FEFO (first expired first out) process, depending on job function. .5%EChanges equipment batteries, conducts pre-op inspection on all material handling equipment used and reports any equipment issues or damages. Properly uses and cares for hand-held scanning equipment.5%EAdheres to all safety and GMP rules, including allergen segregation and organic product handling. Attends all assigned training.ContinuallyResponsible to support safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors, reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations.Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices, allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and regulatory requirements.Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and information within assigned team and across functional areas.Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.Responsible to comply with all safety policies and procedures established for health and workplace safety.Education, Experience, and Knowledge:Forklift driving experience and knowledge of safe forklift operation.Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:Material handling equipment certification required.Skills and Competencies:Ability to read, write, and speak English.Basic math skillsAbility to train others.Job Specific Requirements:This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.Equal Opportunity Employer - minorities/females/veterans/individuals with disabilities/sexual orientation/gender identity
