Martin/Martin, Inc. Building Envelope Consultant in Lakewood, Colorado

Description:Martin/Martin is seeking an experienced Architect or Engineer to join our Existing Building Services Group in our Lakewood, Colorado office. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of engineers, architects and technicians working to design, analyze and develop unique building enclosure solutions to address water/air infiltration related issues on existing buildings and to design new enclosure systems to meet the current federal, state and local code requirements. Typical projects will include a variety of day-to-day tasks, such as on-site investigations, report writing, analysis, design, testing, research, and construction administration. Project types will range from small residential to large commercial or institutional buildings. Our projects are predominately located in the Rocky Mountain Region with opportunities to work throughout the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities Include: * Coordinates and performs investigations and designs with in-house staff and clients. * Serves as a point of contact with clients and contractors on projects for which they are involved. * Communicates schedule and technical information to clients, other consultants, and contractors with on projects. * Schedules manpower needs. * Manages own work activities and those of others working on their projects. * Evaluates and follows Safety plans for specific project conditions. * Coordinates project specific QA/QC plans. * Writes and edits specifications. * Writes technical reports. * Assists in preparing proposals, develops and coordinates design documents, coordinates with clients and ensures project requirements are achieved. * Other duties as assigned Requirements:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in either Engineering or Architecture * Understands structural/architectural and waterproofing systems for common building types. * Able to manage small projects through design and construction. * Minimum of 2 years of progressive engineering or architectural experience DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Prefer between 5 and 15 years of progressive engineering or architectural experience * Licensed Professional Engineer or Architect in the state of their original licensure and able to obtain Colorado license within 2 years of being hired. * Experience designing and analyzing enclosure systems using hygrothermal modeling techniques and software. * Strong written and verbal communications skills. * Has skills to investigate, analyze, design, coordinate, model, document, and check projects. * Has successfully managed numerous investigations/repairs from the initial investigation through completion of construction/repairs. * Trains staff to perform investigations * Active member of an industry related technical committee * Can plan the work and communicate the plan to others to effectively accomplish projects. * Can produce projects on or under the established project budget. * Self-motivated to create production enhancements for the betterment of the company. * Demonstrates skill and positive attitude in completing difficult assignments. * Demonstrates strong commitment to continued professional growth. * Demonstrates a proficiency to solve complex problems with minimal direction. * Demonstrates a willingness to take on additional work and responsibility.
