Overview

TRC is seeking Electrical Engineers to support our Lakewood, CO office. Responsibilities

  • Perform design activities requiring a basic understanding of drawings, calculations, specifications, and industry standards and practices covering the assigned work.
  • Responsibility for the relay protection & control engineering including detailed design for high voltage substation and transmission projects through 345kV. Depending upon complexity of the project, the candidate may prepare, provide guidance, or assist in preparing and developing the engineering deliverables for electric substation projects - including the development of: one & three line diagrams; schematics and wiring diagrams; relay settings and calculations; control and relaying panel layouts and specifications; control and relaying panel and equipment wiring diagrams; SCADA system and communications interfaces including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs; auxiliary system design including batteries and chargers, AC & DC load centers, conduit and cable sizing, backup generator sizing (UPS); commissioning and functional testing specifications; and the overall bill of materials.
  • Shall have a basic knowledge of the theory, practices, and procedures pertaining to engineering matters in one or more of the following areas: Civil Engineering Communications Systems Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Mechanical Engineering Automation Systems

  • Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, calculations, cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.

  • Develop professional work knowledge and abilities in one or more of the following areas: Civil Engineering Communications Systems Distribution Engineering Electrical Control Systems Substation Design Protective Relaying Substation Automation Transmission Systems Power Systems Analysis

  • Develop knowledge of the Company's design, construction, QA/QC, and safety standards and the Company document control system.

  • Responsible for complete and accurate record keeping and quality of all work performed.
  • May be required to travel to support work.
  • Other duties as required. Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited engineering program

  • Power Concentration preferred, not required
