Job Description:

  • Ensures that product is free from contamination by following rules of good manufacturing practices for disease control, personal practices, and uniform policy

  • Ensures product protection by checking package integrity for good seals, proper price, code date, tape color, and product quality according to standard procedures #16 and #17 of Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP)

  • Ensures good manufacturing procedures by following housekeeping standards

  • Works in a team to pack product by assembling boxes, taking sealed bags of product off automated conveyor line, taping boxes, and placing on skid; pull sealed cases off automated packaging lines; or filling kegs and placing lids on containers

  • Stack sealed cases on skids according to stacking procedures under product pallet patterns and diagrams

  • Recognizes problems; shuts down machine and/or alerts machine operator according to standard procedures

  • Collects overruns in tubs and caddie bags and dumps as necessary according to standard procedures

  • Prepares cases for use on the next shift by stickering information on the side of the box to include brand name, quantity in case, weight of gag, product type, if no salt, and UPC code from back of the bag

  • Ensures efficient and quality production and positive employee relations by complying with all employment policies, rules, regulations, safety procedures, good manufacturing procedures, product protection standards and actively participating in all training requirements

  • Follows and enforces standards for food safety and food quality production reflected in SQF as well as the regulations of major vendors and governmental agencies such as OSHA, FDA and EPA and assures associates are consistently trained in these standards and comply with all requirements

Additional Tasks: Contributes to team effort by performing other assigned duties as needed. Maintains cooperative relationship with co-workers and management by communicating necessary information, responding to requests, building rapport; and participating in problem solving methods.
