Position Summary

ITT Engineered Valves is looking for a Buyer to join their team in Lancaster, PA. The Buyer will be responsible for the day to day of assigned procurement of goods and services in order to achieve balanced costs, efficiencies, and service while ensuring overall product quality standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing role for a manufacturing company.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Reviews the forecast, analyzes MRP/ERP reports, to purchase/allocate items, services and supplies as required to maintain/adhere to the production forecast.

  • Communicates continuously with vendors and suppliers executing contracts, reviewing quantities, price, availability, covering possible adjustments, non-conforming materials, delivery methods/problems, and sourcing of new items and/or raw materials.

  • Works closely with vendors/suppliers to implement programs to improve performance.

  • Prepares purchase orders for goods and services. Communicates with requisitioners when changes or price differences occur.

  • Assists with maintaining records for all vendors and assures proper documentation is on file accurately reflecting costs, sources, and associated lead times

  • Studies inventories recommending remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, or excess stock.

  • Back up to other buyers as assigned.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required. Degree in business, supply chain management, or similar field strongly preferred.

  • 2+ years of purchasing/procurement experience is required

  • A.P.I.C.S. certification is desirable. Additional coursework or seminars in materials management preferred.

  • Self-starter

  • Excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with a diverse employee base.

  • Highly proficient in the use of MRP and ERP systems (SAP preferred) as well as MS Office. Previous use of databases a plus.

  • Ability to compute complex mathematical equations with many variables expressed in percentages, ratios, decimals, and fractions as well as able to follow statistical model as required.

  • Ability to analyze production reports, graphs, statistical models, memos etc., to allocate/purchase materials as production demands.

  • Ability to navigate multiple priorities and take accountability

  • Highly organized and multitasking.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing organization structure, policies, and procedures preferred.

The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.

Equal Pay Act Range

Annual Salary Range $61,100 to 91,300 plus benefits and incentive plans.
