Robert Half Cost Accounting Manager in Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accounting Manager to join our team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This role will involve maintaining the financial integrity of our inventory, leading cost reduction efforts, and implementing continuous improvements to our financial systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the overall integrity of the fabricating value of inventory and the metal closing processes and results.
• Leading and executing unit cost reduction efforts, and evaluating financial implications of long-term commercial contracts.
• Providing an accurate decision support system to facilitate pertinent business decisions.
• Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Leading the financial & business process audit, maintaining strong internal controls to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
• Supervising and coaching the development and prioritization of activities of direct reports.
• Leading the closing process, including liaising with financial support services and reviewing account reconciliations and balance-sheet reviews.
• Ensuring that all non-metal entries are prepared in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Supervising the standard costing system and decision support tools.
• Leading the Annual Burden budget process and periodic review of burden rates.
• Utilizing skills in Cost Accounting, General Ledger, AS400, and Oracle. Requirements • Proficiency in Cost Accounting is mandatory.
• Experience in General Ledger management is required.
• Familiarity with AS400 systems is essential.
• Demonstrable proficiency in Oracle systems is needed.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• Several years of managerial experience in an accounting role is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills are essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lead and mentor a team.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
