MISSION / SUMMARY: Roles and Responsibilities include: The position is responsible for providing daily leadership for departmental employees to improve safety and environmental compliance, quality, cost control, and production.
JOB FUNCTION: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
Create, implement, and monitor local KPI’s for department.
Use six sigma and lean processes to implement process improvement projects to optimize equipment and reduce downtime.
Liaison with other department managers to optimize mill production and alignment of maintenance management system with all improvement initiatives.
Sponsor employee ownership with supervisors and operators to assure continuity in reaching common production goals.
Foster employee engagement initiatives.
Encourage a behavior-based safety process.
Review environmental compliance measures.
Preserve asset management systems for equipment performance and reliability improvement.
Ensure the training program for operators and supervisor is current and appropriate training goals are on target.
Promote ISO standards throughout department.
Provide leadership with the implementation of problem-solving strategies and execution of key performance objectives in production.
