Encore CAD Floor Planner I - HARGROVE in Lanham Seabrook, Maryland

Position Overview

The CAD Floor Planner uses AutoCAD to create and edit floorplans across all disciplines: exhibits, events, experiential marketing, permanent installations, and tradeshows. This position reports to the Manager of CAD Engineering.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Create and edit floorplans for tradeshows (using Expocad Contractor plugin for AutoCAD), which involves:

o Booth layouts in exhibit halls, ballrooms, etc

o Fire Marshal plans for capacity and egress

o Carpet plans for aisle and booth carpet

o Floor markup plans for install crews to measure and mark out space

• Create and edit floorplans of special events: seating layouts, décor, drape, etc.

• Create and edit floorplans of exhibits: placing elements from a designer into a space.

• Meet with members of other departments to work on projects and problem-solve.

• Follow instructions from project team members.

• Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary under the direction of the department supervisor.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in environment design, technical theatre, industrial design, or related field or completion of a formal Computer, Aided, Drafting certificate or program.

• 1-2 years of experience in CAD.

• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD.

• Experience with the Expocad Contractor plugin for AutoCAD a plus.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Suite with the ability to quickly learn new job-related software.

• Ability to work and interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets.

• Organization skills and problem-solving skills.

• Ability and initiative to work independently and as part of a team.

• Must have ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment, competently handling demanding deadlines.

Work Environment

Office

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Hargrove based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
