Robert Half Accounting Manager in Lansing, Michigan

Description

We are in the process of recruiting an Accounting Manager to be based in Lansing, Michigan. The successful candidate will be joining our team in the non-profit industry, providing essential financial management and bookkeeping services. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, ideal for someone seeking a long-term commitment. The Accounting Manager will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, ranging from full cycle payroll management to general ledger maintenance. There is an obligation to come in 1 day per week and work no more than 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee full cycle payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

• Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), maintaining precise records.

• Conduct monthly end close procedures in line with company guidelines.

• Perform balance sheet account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Manage and record government grants effectively and in accordance with regulations.

• Carry out variance analysis to identify and explain financial performance discrepancies.

• Prepare income statements, providing insights into the organization's revenues and expenses.

• Develop and manage the annual budget, taking into consideration the organization's financial goals and constraints.

• Monitor budget adherence, identifying and addressing any deviations in a timely manner.

• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately.

Requirements • Proficiency in Full Cycle Payroll management

• Extensive experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to execute Month End Close procedures effectively

• Expertise in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

• Familiarity with Government Grants and their accounting procedures

• Proficient in Variance Analysis

• Ability to prepare and analyze Income Statements

• Experience in creating Annual Budget and monitoring against actuals

• Knowledge of General Ledger management and reconciliation
