Actalent Civil Engineer in Lansing, Michigan

Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description

The Civil Engineer will be responsible for the engineering and design for commercial development projects. They will be involved in the engineering construction documentation, specifications, and details for multiple projects simultaneously. They will work with the Civil Engineering Manager in Lansing and will be involved in both internal team coordination and external client communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform site design work for site plans and construction drawings which include site layout, grading, stormwater, roadway, and utility layouts using Civil 3D

  • Perform site design calculations and analysis based on codes and regulations

  • Document engineering calculations for projects

  • Participate in internal and external client meetings

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

  • EIT or PE License

  • 3+ years of experience in civil design for site development (site layout, grading, stormwater, roadway, utility layout)

  • Proficient experience in Civil 3D

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in site development and land development

  • Knowledge of drainage, grading, stormwater, and utility layouts

  • Understanding of zoning and civil design principles

Work Environment

The office is located in Lansing, MI. The position offers a hybrid schedule, requiring 3 days in the Lansing office and 2 days working remotely each week (Monday - Friday, working an average of 40 hours per week). Our Client fosters a 'family culture' with regular office events and opportunities to work toward PE or Project Manager status.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $48.00
