SUMMARY

We strive to be people-centered in all we do.To manage caseload for the Eaton County Immediate Employment Assistance Resource Network Program (I-EARN) and provide instruction related to work/employability skills as well as life skills. This position assists participants who are homeless and unemployed in Eaton County to reduce employment barriers and obtain/maintain employment. Work with Peckham interdepartmental team including all of Peckham's social enterprises, Human Resource, and Payroll to expand work opportunities, monitor participant’s progress, and enhance the quality of services provided. Work with community partners and referral sources to support coordinated care.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage referrals to the program, pre-intake information meetings, and determination of participant eligibility for program.
Schedule and facilitate program intakes and orientations.
Maintain communication and follow-up with referral sources.
Process initial intake documents; maintain electronic case files for program participants.
Maintain participant files for Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Curriculum development and instruction to address/reduce participant employment barriers and to increase work/job skills needed to obtain employment.
Curriculum development and instruction of life skills necessary to increase self-sufficiency.
Write Individualized Program Plans, observation notes, progress reports, Individual Eligibility Evaluations as appropriate, and program summaries for program participants
Partner with Peckham Supervisors in monitoring participants progress and make recommendations for transfers to applicable
Peckham, referrals to Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS), or other programs
Manage, purchase, distribute and track Supportive Services.
Prepare monthly support service financial report.
Track Peckham goals/ outcomes, HUD goals/outcomes
Provide 45 day retention services for participants transferred to the Transitional Services Program and for those who obtain community employment.
Attend Inter-Agency Case Manager Meetings bi-monthly, participate in Project
Connect planning/attendance, and attend various other meetings related to coordinated case management.
Weekly/Monthly Assist in providing data for completion of HUD Annual Performance Report, and HUD Grant Application
Efficiently manage computer files using Microsoft programs, email, and other electronic communication, reporting tools, and information
Utilize a teamwork approach
Assist in maintaining organization wide quality standards and continuous improvement efforts
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Assist with coverage duties of other Peckham Programs
Other related duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or eight years equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
This position requires passing and maintaining security background checks.
Must have access to reliable transportation.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy cultural diversity in the workplace.
Maintain an unrestricted driver's license and possess a clear driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer education in rehabilitation counseling, social work, or equivalent.
NCRC equivalency: 5-4-5.
Previous experience with Homeless Services helpful.
Previous experience with curriculum development and instruction helpful.
