Robert Half Medical Data Entry Clerk in Lapeer, Michigan

Description We are looking for a Medical Data Entry Clerk to join our team based in Bay City, Michigan. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and organizing health information data, ensuring its quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security. As part of our healthcare team, you will also be tasked with collecting, tracking, and reconciling patient medical record information, serving as an information resource, and interacting with various departments as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, track and reconcile patient medical record information post patient discharge

• Utilize facility guidelines to prepare, assemble, scan, index, and file records for document storage and/or imaging

• Analyze patient charts for physician deficiencies in accordance with facility guidelines/bylaws

• Assist in the physician chart completion and suspension processes which include validating chart deficiencies and communicating with Providers regarding their incomplete records

• Assist in the distribution of reports, letters, and statistics related to delinquent medical records

• Access and utilize the EMR (electronic medical records) system to support record completion, coding, release of information and overall management and maintenance of the legal health record

• Perform data collection and submission of information for birth certificate filing

• Serve as an information resource by responding to requests for general and medical record information received via phone, e-mail, fax, or in person

• Retrieve records per request for patient care, studies, committees, and other requests and work with other departments as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role or related field

• Proficiency in Cerner Technologies is required

• Demonstrated ability to use CRM systems effectively

• Knowledge of Billing Functions within a medical context is necessary

• Experience in Claim Administration is crucial

• Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) is required

• Accurate and speedy data entry skills are essential

• Ability to handle confidential medical records responsibly

• Excellent attention to detail is necessary

• Strong organizational skills are required

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word

• High school diploma or equivalent is required

• Any relevant certification, such as a Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS), would be advantageous.
