Acadia Healthcare Behavioral Health Associate - Day/Night Shift in LaPlace, Louisiana

We are actively seeking strong Behavioral Health Associates to join our excellent nursing team! River Place Behavioral Health, a service of Ochsner Health System, provides state-of-the-art psychiatric care for adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental health concerns. Conveniently located in LaPlace, Louisiana, just 20 minutes west of New Orleans and 40 minutes east of Baton Rouge. Among its many features, this historic community along the banks of the Mississippi River in Saint John the Baptist Parish offers the serenity and seclusion that are conducive to healing.

As a Behavioral Health Associate at River Place you will participate in the development and implementation of patients' treatment plan by:

  • Providing care and close supervision of facility patients and documenting behavior

  • Developing positive relationships with patients and co-workers

  • Following facility policies and procedures implementing treatment plans and providing crisis intervention as necessary.

  • Actively participant as part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction

  • Act as a role model in using appropriate counseling skills by de-escalating aggression, using active listening skills, using appropriate tone and volume of voice, providing a high frequency and variety of positive reinforcements, maintaining appropriate boundaries, and promoting a positive peer culture.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

  • First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
