This vacancy is located at SCLHSA's River Parishes Behavioral Health Center located in Laplace, LA. The incumbent in this position serves as the facility manager of SCLHSA’s St. John Parish facilities, which includes two separate centers: River Parishes Behavioral Health Center and River Parishes Assessment Center. These facilities serve the parishes of St. James, St. John and St. Charles. The incumbent is responsible for the overall management of all operations at the centers, including clinical and administrative programs.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A master's degree in psychology; social work; sociology; counseling; health services; hospital, public, health care or mental health administration; nursing; public health; education with a concentration in psychology or counseling; special education; or in a human services or behavioral science discipline as listed in the NOTE; plus four years of professional level experience providing health services, mental health treatment, social services, nursing, education, or guidance and counseling.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

Graduate work beyond the master's degree in qualifying fields will substitute for a maximum of one year of the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.

A doctoral degree in one of the above fields or a medical degree will substitute for two years of the experience.

NOTE:

Graduate training will substitute for a maximum of two years of the required experience.

NOTE:

Human services or behavioral sciences degrees acceptable to the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority include addiction studies, behavioral science, public health, public policy/administration, health administration, social work, psychology, counseling, sociology, criminal justice, educational counseling, and rehabilitation counseling.

Comparable degrees will be considered qualifying if deemed acceptable by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority.

NOTE:

Some positions may require regulation as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW).

NOTE:

Applicants who possess a master’s degree in social work may be required to maintain licensure in accordance with the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.

NOTE:

Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Serves as Manager of a comprehensive mental health center.

Plans, develops, and directs programs that meet the clinical needs of the residents of the service area, such as outpatient services, community support programs, partial hospitalization services, 24- hour emergency services, screening and consultation to courts and coroners, quality assurance programs, consultation and education services, continuity services, and inpatient services.

Serves as a staff advisor to a center advisory board. Supervises subordinate manpower responsible for directing the work of various disciplines, support staff, and administrative services.

Determines organizational requirements of personnel, materials, supplies, and equipment.

Develops budget requests and monitors expenditures.

May provide case supervision as requested.
