Assistant Beverage Manager The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)

Description:

Summary: Responsible for assisting with the overall day to day operations of the beverage department including all beverage outlets throughout the property, fitness room, pool facilities and the food & beverage outlets located in the pool areas. Responsible for hiring, training, development and managing all beverage, pool and fitness staff in assigned areas. Responsible for operating assigned venues above standard as defined by property shopper criteria and guest survey information. Responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy aquatic environment for all hotel guests. Assists the Beverage Manager with other special projects as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the hiring, training, evaluation, development and disciplining of departmental employees.

  • Ensures a safe and healthy aquatic environment for all hotel guests.

  • Assists in the oversight of cabana and Day Bed rental services as well as revenues accrued from those services.

  • Establishes and maintains standards of service and guest satisfaction in all areas of the Beverage department.

  • Responsible for assisting with the development of policy and procedures manuals in all assigned areas and keeping those policies updated periodically.

  • Ensures food & beverage options and experiences are competitive within the market and exceed guest expectations.

  • Monitors and controls labor within all assigned areas.

  • Scheduling all assigned staff, ensuring proper coverage and labor costs are within budget.

  • Responsible for ensuring proper processing of payroll for all assigned staff.

  • Monitors maintenance and appearance of all assigned outlets and provides suggestions for improvement as needed.

  • Assists with ongoing analysis of financial reports to monitor the profitability and expenses of all Beverage operations.

  • Responsible for the accounting of all beverage products at month end inventory.

  • Responsible for ordering all necessary supplies and equipment, monitoring the status of all product orders and ensuring orders are being delivered in a timely manner.

  • Running various reports, including system closing reports for all beverage areas.

  • Assists with the budget of all assigned outlets including forecasting for future years.

  • Responsible for resolving elevated guest complaints, problem payments and issues.

  • Ensures all food & beverage is served and prepared within health, safety and sanitation guidelines.

  • Works on other Special Projects as assigned.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a beverage environment.

  • 1 – 3 years previous management experience operating successful F&

  • B operations preferred.

  • Previous management experience in a pool setting environment preferred.

  • Previous knowledge managing staff, beverage and pool operations, budgeting, training, scheduling and pool safety preferred.

  • Previous experience and success controlling labor costs and expenses.

  • Some analytical ability required, including the basic ability to read and interpret financial statements.

  • Strong knowledge of Kronos (payroll/timecard system) preferred.

  • Strong knowledge Stratton Warren (product procurement system) preferred.

  • Knowledge of “point of sale” systems and InfoGenesis preferred.

  • Efficient using computers, including but not limited to Word and Excel.

  • Experience working with collective bargaining agreements preferred.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group situations, as well as one-on-one.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Excellent guest service skills.

  • Present a professional appearance.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

  • Continuously walking and/or standing and stooping, and working outdoors (more than 75% of the time).

  • Occasionally sitting at a desk or table.

  • Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying up to 35 lbs.

  • Bending, kneeling, climbing and using chemical agents (up to approx. 25% of the time).

  • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail.

  • Hearing, vision (including peripheral), speech and literacy (critical).

  • Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise levels and extreme weather conditions.
