F&B Assistant Manager The Strat (Las Vegas, NV)

Description:

Summary: Responsible for the supervision of all service staff in assigned venue, including training, evaluating and disciplining employees during assigned shift. Responsible for assisting with the overall day to day operations of the venue. Responsible for operating assigned venue above standard as defined by property shopper criteria and guest survey information and handles all elevated complaints or concerns. Assists the F&B Manager with the day to day operations of assigned venue.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in the hiring, training, evaluation, development and disciplining of departmental employees.

  • Monitors staff to ensure outstanding guest service is being provided to guest and handles any guest concerns or complaints.

  • Ensures all cashiering procedures are processed in compliance with accounting standards.

  • Manages the payroll expenses for assigned employees by properly scheduling staff based on business needs.

  • Ensures staff follows guidelines as dictated by company policies and procedures and culinary contract agreement.

  • Handles all voided checks in accordance with accounting procedures, assists servers with expediting problem payments and handles all other cashiering issues.

  • Ensures the restaurants are clean, organized and properly functioning and the restaurant equipment is maintained.

  • Ensures health, safety and sanitation standards are followed at all times.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a food and beverage environment preferred

  • 1 – 3 years previous management experience operating successful F&B operations preferred

  • Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls preferred

  • Previous experience working with collective bargaining agreements preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and skills

  • Accurate money handling and documentation skills

  • Some analytical ability required, including the basic ability to read and interpret financial statements

  • Strong knowledge of Kronos (payroll/timecard system) preferred

  • Strong knowledge Stratten Warren (product procurement system) preferred

  • Knowledge of “point of sale” systems and InfoGenesis preferred

  • Efficient using computers, including but not limited to Word and Excel

  • Present a professional appearance

  • Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group situations, as well as one-on-one

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

  • Able to work calmly and efficiently while managing multiple tasks

  • At least 21 years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Previous room service experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Walking and continuously standing (more than 75 % of the time)

  • Vision, hearing, speech and literacy (critical)

  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, bending and kneeling (up to 50% of the time)

  • Ability to work in a smoky, noisy environment with bright lights &

  • hot and cold temperatures

  • Ability to communicate vocally utilizing portable radios and telephones (critical)

  • Using chemical agents and wearing protective equipment (less than 25% of the time)
