The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for providing patient-oriented service in a clinical or front office setting; performs a variety of clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of patient care, including greeting and checking in patients, answering phones, collecting patient co-pays and insurance payments, processing paperwork, and performing other front office duties as required in a fast-paced, customer-oriented clinical environment.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM

Location: 2300 W. Charleston, Las Vegas, NV 89102

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet all external and internal customers in a courteous manner. Use proper telephone etiquette. Maintain a positive attitude in the work environment at all times

  • Answer phone and give information telephonically with 95% accuracy

  • Make, verify and schedule appointments with 95% accuracy, including updating demographics

  • Completes assigned work, which may include reviewing, monitoring, scheduling and completing referrals, bump lists, and communicating/notifying ordering providers by tasking or faxing in all pertinent systems

  • Communicate with Primary Care/ network Providers when referral requirements are not met to assist with plan of care

  • Manages the patient’s expectations regarding scheduling and rescheduling Breast Care Provider visits including Diagnostic Mammograms & Breast Ultrasound Exams by reviewing prior imaging reports as well as referrals submitted

  • Ensure demographics including insurance information are correct in IDX and updates as necessary

  • Assists co-workers and team members with duties when requested or assigned, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)

  • 1+ years of customer service experience in a call center environment

  • 1+ years of experience working with basic office equipment such as faxes, scanners, copy machines, printers, etc.

  • Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time to nearby offices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience working in a healthcare office setting

  • Basic knowledge of EHR systems

  • Bilingual (English / Spanish)

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $16.54 to $32.55 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
