Desert Parkway Behavioral Healthcare Hospital Patient Services Coordinator in Las Vegas, Nevada
Responsible for verifying insurance coverage and estimating patient responsibility for patient’s being admitted for inpatient or outpatient services. Provides the A&R staff with the most accurate data based on the information provided. Duties include, but are not limited to, accessing insurance website to verify insurance benefits, establishing calls in computer system.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Patient Admissions:
Pre-verify demographics and insurance information for patients being referred to facility for treatment.
Open calls based on type of referral.
Interviews incoming patients or relatives to obtain pertinent data and verify insurance coverage.
Enters data into computer system with accuracy.
Completes Medical Assistance/Charity application for patients with no insurance.
Meets with patient’s to obtain Medicare signatures when necessary.
Prepares billing packets with applicable insurance notes, scans and indexes daily in doc link.
Reports:
Downloads reports from AIS in excel and prepares census reports with specific payor requirements.
Saves files in designated folders.
Face Sheet Requests:
Responds to all inquiries for requests for face sheets in a timely manner.
Schedule is Friday, Saturday, Sunday and every other Thursday from 7:00pm - 7:30am
Requirements
High school degree or equivalent required.
Minimum two (2) years’ healthcare experience preferred.
Previous experience with the Nevada Psychiatric/Substance Abuse Insurance Market strongly preferred.
Experience using Microsoft word and excel.
